Students can research the history of tessellations and demonstrate their findings using  PowerPoint or poster board, or other appropriate method.

Students can report on one of the contributors to the advancement of tessellations.

Students can create  tessellations using graph paper, tracing paper, compass and straightedge or geometry or tessellation software.

Students can bring in real-world examples of tessellations and discuss their patterns .  Some examples include quilts, honeycomb and chicken wire, brickwork, mosaic floor or tilings, silk ties, posters and puzzles to name a few.  Below are pictures of  tessellations.
