Simson Line Project
EMAT 6680 (Technology in Secondary Education) Project
(link)

In this Technology course project (link above), I approached the given problem—"Find all conditions in which the three vertices of the Pedal triangle are colinear (that is, it is a degenerate triangle). This line segment is called the Simson Line."—from the perspective of both a teacher and a learner. As I had never encountered this problem before, I had to use technology (specifically, GSP) to make and test conjectures, rather than simply using it to help me communicate an already-known solution. Through this project, I learned more about how my students and I can use technology to investigate problems in ways that traditional instruction would not allow.
