Lesson 3:

Parallel Lines

Objectives:

1.  The student will define transversal and identity the following:

                exterior angles
                interior angles
                corresponding angles
                alternate interior angles
                alternate exterior angles
                consecutive interior angles

2.  The student will make the following conclusions:

When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, alternate interior angles are congruent.
When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, corresponding angles are congruent.
When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, alternate exterior angles are congruent.
When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, consecutive interior angles are supplementary.
